Lorena Comparato (born March 14, 1990, in Lisbon, Portugal) is a Brazilian-Portuguese-English speaking actress, creator, and TV host recognized for her work in comedy and drama series across platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Comedy Central, E! Entertainment, Fox/Disney, Globo, and others. She is an internationally award-winning talent.
Her notable TV credits include Samantha! (2018), the first Brazilian comedy on Netflix; Impuros (2018), which was iEmmy nominated and aired on Star+/FOX Premium/Disney; Globo TV shows Pé na Cova (2013) and Cine Holliúdy (2019); the soap opera Rock Story (2016); Homens? (2019) on Comedy Central and Amazon Prime Video; as well as roles in Forbidden City (2017), TOCs de Dalila (2016), E Aí... Comeu? (2016), Do Amor (2012), Open Bar (2010), and Crossing the Line (2012).
She has appeared in over 10 films, including the lead and associate producer role in Lacuna (2021) by Rodrigo Lages. In 2018, she starred as the young protagonist in Golden Mouth (2019), directed by Daniel Filho and written by Nelson Rodrigues, earning Best Actress awards in the USA and Uruguay. Her previous accolades include Best Actress at the Marilia Festival for the short film Handebol (2010). She also collaborated with director Anita Rocha da Silveira in Kill Me Please (2015), which received awards and nominations at IndieLisboa, Munich, Festival do Rio, and Venice Horizons.
In theater, Lorena has performed in numerous Brazilian productions such as August Osage County (2017/2018), Não Tô Entendendo Nada (2017/2018), #Broncadequê? (2015/2016), Blackbird (2014), O Decote (2012), Meu Amigo Bobby (2013), Nadistas e Tudistas (2013), and the inaugural project of her theater company Cia de 4 Mulheres, Ricardo (2013/2014). This group also wrote and starred in the two-season show E! No Filter WKND (2019) and created "Prato Frio," Brazil’s first fiction podcast on Spotify.
Daughter of renowned Brazilian scriptwriter Doc Comparato and speech coach Leila Mendes, Lorena began studying theater in childhood. She lived with her actress sister Bianca Comparato and parents in Sintra, Portugal for six years before relocating to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lorena studied drama at BSRJ school and PUC-Rio, where she earned a communications degree and participated in an exchange program at UCLA. She is currently pursuing a master's in Performing Arts at Escola de Artes Celia Helena. Her training also includes workshops with Ivana Chubbuck, Eduardo Milewicz, Brian Kite, Chris Newman, Marcio Libar, Arianne Minouschine, Juan Carlos Corazza, Jandiz Estrada, Cininha de Paula, and others.
