Biografi
Francesco Carril (Madrid, 1986) holds a degree in Textual Interpretation from the Royal College of Dramatic Art in Madrid (2008).
Since 2009, he has led the Saraband troupe, directing four productions: 'Fragments', 'Fedra', 'The Best Intentions', and 'Life During Wartime'.
Carril balances his work as a theater director with acting. He has collaborated with renowned contemporary directors such as Miguel del Arco, Eduardo Vasco, Álvaro Lavín, and Josep Maria Mestres, and was part of the second graduating class of the National Youth Classical Theatre Company. He received the Best Actor award at the International Independent Film Festival Buenos Aires for his role in Jonás Trueba's film 'Los ilusos', also earning recognition at the Festival of Toulouse Cinespaña. In 2015, he starred in another Jonás Trueba film, 'Los exiliados románticos'.
His formal training includes studies with Will Keen, Natalia Menéndez, Helena Pimenta, Eduardo Vasco, David Puerta, and Javier Sánchez at the National Classical Theatre Company, as well as under Vicente Fuentes at the JCNTC.
Carril has participated in numerous workshops focusing on acting, physical, and vocal techniques, working with instructors such as Roberta Carreri (Odin Teatret), Lenard Petit, Joanna Merlin, Slava Kokorin, Ted Pugh, Fern Sloan, and Ragnar Freidank (The Michael Chekhov Association in the United States and Canada). He has also studied Viewpoints technique with Michael Stubblefield, Marco Alotto, Paolo Mannina, and Marika Pugliatti, among others.
