Biografi
Bangs Garcia is a film and television actress and painter from Davao City, Philippines. She attended Ateneo de Davao University from 1993 to 2005. In 2004, she won the interschool talent competition Campus Idols. Her first job was as a TV host on a teen variety show at ABS-CBN Davao. In 2005, she participated in the model search Close Up to Fame organized by ABS-CBN Corp. Although she did not win, she continued pursuing a career in modeling. During her time in Manila, she became a Philippine Youth Ambassador and appeared in her first TV commercial.
Garcia made her acting debut in May 2006 as one of the main stars of the now-defunct youth-oriented sitcom Let's Go, playing Bangs, a rocker chick known for her fringe covering her face. The name Bangs resonated with the audience and soon became her popular screen name. In 2007, she appeared on the cover of Candy teen magazine. In 2008, she starred as the leading lady in the prime time action TV series Palos. She was also named the new face of Tanduay for billboards and TV commercials. Additionally, she graced the covers of Maxim Philippines and FHM Philippines, with her photos also featured on the covers of FHM in Thailand, Indonesia, Austria, Czech Republic, and as a centerfold in Australia, earning multiple covers in 2010 and 2013. From 2008 to 2009, she appeared in TV series including Midnight DJ, Kambal Sa Uma, Katorse, and Precious Hearts: My Cheating Heart, as well as films such as Shake Rattle and Roll XI, Migrante, and Marino.
In 2010, Garcia took on lead roles in several episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya and starred in the TV series Magkano Ang Iyong Dangal. She also appeared in the film Cinco. Between 2011 and 2012, she was part of the main cast in TV series Precious Hearts: Kristine and Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo, and acted in films including The Reunion and Segunda Mano, for which she won Best Supporting Actress at the Gawad Pasado Awards. She also appeared in Burgos and So It's You. In 2013, she played the title role in the film Lauriana, which received nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Story at the FAMAS Awards, and earned her the Best Actress award from Gawad Pasado Awards. That year, she also starred in the independent film Sabine and appeared in the film Posas. From 2014 to 2016, she appeared in TV series such as Dyesebel, Mac & Chiz, Hiyas, My Home, and 'Til I Met You, featured in several episodes of the TV show Ipaglaban Mo, and acted in films including Manila's Finest, No Boyfriend Since Birth, Baka Siguro Yata, with a special appearance in Dukot.
