Corin Nelson is a five-time Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer, Showrunner, Creator, and senior television executive whose career spans more than 2,750 hours of original unscripted programming across broadcast, cable, streaming, digital platforms, live events, and branded entertainment. Known industry-wide for her ability to build shows from the ground up-format creation, talent development, production leadership, and franchise expansion-Nelson has delivered high-impact series, pilots, specials, and digital formats for nearly every major network and studio.
Nelson currently serves as SVP of Network Development at Game Show Network and Game Show Enterprises Studios (Sony Pictures Television), where she leads creative strategy, original format development, pilot and sales tape execution, content partnerships, and new business growth. During her tenure, she built GSN's first-run syndication pipeline and delivered more than 540 nationally distributed episodes across two flagship franchises. She expanded the development slate by 70%, helped establish second-window models that strengthened ratings across platforms, and forged key partnerships with station groups, production companies, advertisers, distributors, and brand agencies. Her work at Sony spans ideation, format architecture, production strategy, and overseeing both creative and operational pathways that take shows from pitch to series order.
Before joining Sony, Nelson spent more than a decade running her own production company, Curly One Productions, where she created, developed, and produced 2,500+ hours of content across genres including talk/variety, comedy, game, lifestyle, competition-elimination, digital-first, and live interactive programming. As Executive Producer and Showrunner, she delivered a 250-episode mobile-first daily digital series that became its platform's #1 show, created and produced the NBC primetime holiday special "Holidays with The Houghs," which drew 4.7 million live viewers, and produced original programming, pilots, and sales tapes for clients including NBC, CBS, MTV, E!, VH1, WeTV, USA Network, Syfy, TBS, Facebook Watch, Quibi, and Telepictures. Nelson has collaborated with a wide range of talent including Drew Barrymore, Derek & Julianne Hough, Shan Boodram, Alexa Chung, Chrisley family members, Becky G, and more.
At Facebook (Meta), Nelson created and showran long-form and interactive series for Facebook Watch, delivering episodes that regularly reached 1-2 million views within 24 hours and pioneering the platform's earliest live interactive programming formats. She directed creative, ran production teams, partnered with product and marketing divisions on new technology integrations, and helped shape Meta's vision for cross-platform programming during a pivotal moment in the platform's evolution.
From 2014 to 2019, Nelson produced some of NBCUniversal's most high-profile unscripted formats. For Syfy, she created, developed, executive-produced, and showran two seasons of the multi-night Syfy Live From Comic-Con franchise-NBCU's first live broadcast presence from San Diego Comic-Con-hosted in separate seasons by Will Arnett and Zachary Levi. The franchise attracted major advertiser integrations, generated millions in brand partnerships, and expanded Syfy's connection to gaming and fandom audiences. She also executive-produced and showran series for USA Network, including "According to Chrisley" and "Big Star Little Star," and created the format for the aftershow "Hacking Robot," tied to Sam Esmail's acclaimed series Mr. Robot.
Earlier, Nelson served as Executive Producer and Showrunner for CBS Television Distribution (now CBS Media Ventures), where she developed, created, and produced pilots and presentation tapes that contributed directly to the network's alternative and first-run syndication slate-including the sales tape and pilot for "The Drew Barrymore Show," which sold immediately into national syndication and now airs in its sixth season. Her work in syndication also includes contributing to the creation and launch of brand-new daily formats during one of the most competitive eras of daytime television.
Nelson created and launched the iconic late-night comedy talk show "Chelsea Lately" for E!, serving as Creator, Executive Producer, and Showrunner for the first three seasons, overseeing the show's rapid rise into a cultural phenomenon. The series became one of E!'s most successful global titles, running for seven years and spawning multiple international versions and spin-offs.
At MTV, Nelson held an exclusive overall deal as VP of Development, shaping the network's unscripted pipeline while also being tapped by network leadership to showrun the daily, live celebrity-driven pop-culture series "It's On with Alexa Chung." Funded entirely through Twitter and Facebook integrations, the show earned a Season 2 renewal and helped establish MTV's early experiments in social-driven live television.
Nelson's career began at Warner Bros., where she rose at remarkable speed-advancing from Talent Producer to Supervising Producer to Showrunner in just six months on the nationally syndicated, Emmy Award-winning The Rosie O'Donnell Show. Over nearly six years, she produced more than 1,000 hours of live television, overseeing bookings, interviews, games, stunts, music, comedy, branded integrations, and live studio floor production. Under a subsequent multi-year overall deal with Warner Bros., she relocated to Los Angeles, where she showran series as well as pilots and sales tapes for celebrity-hosted talk-variety development and first-run syndication.
Across her career, Nelson has partnered with major brands, agencies, and advertisers to create content that thrives at the intersection of entertainment, culture, and commerce. Her work has been recognized by the Image Awards, NAMIC Awards, Prism Awards, and GLAAD Awards, in addition to her five Emmy wins.
