Biografi
Kiki was born in Hong Kong and moved with her family to Seattle, Washington at age 12. She competed in solo voice competitions, earning third place in the Hong Kong school district solo voice contest. Kiki was also a swimmer and trained for ten years as a classical pianist.
At the University of Washington, Kiki majored in Drama and developed an interest in philosophy. She traveled to Asia, working in Hong Kong and London with renowned directors Wilson Yip and Benny Chan on films such as SPL 2, Triumph in the Skies, and Little Big Master. Kiki starred as a lead in a promotional film for Cyberport TV Hong Kong. She taught English Drama at Faust International Youth Theatre and directed student showcases. Additionally, she wrote, produced, and directed plays at the University of Washington’s Ethnic Cultural Theatre and the Pike Place Market Theater. In Seattle, she performed sketch comedy with the Pork Filled Players and booked commercials and industrials for Microsoft, Super Supplement, Nintendo, Bank of America, and Intel, among others. In San Diego, Kiki performed her award-winning one-woman show "Second Chances for Grace" at the San Diego Fringe Festival, New Americans Museum, Lunar New Year Cultural Festivals, and more. She co-hosted the COX4SD entertainment show Asian Voices and hosted the La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival twice. Kiki received a diversity scholarship to attend the Freehold Studio Theatre Ensemble Training Intensive with a focus on Shakespeare. She was also selected from hundreds of applicants to present her one-woman show at the Pan Asian Repertory Theater in New York.
After the birth of her son Sky, Kiki embraced a new challenge by becoming a stand-up comedian. She founded Crazy Woke Asians (CWA), an award-winning, always sold-out comedy show featuring top Asian American comedians, performing at venues like The World Famous Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, Hollywood Improv, Haha Comedy Club, Ice House Comedy Club, as well as sold-out tours in Seattle and New York.
Kiki has performed at the New York Comedy Festival, Carolines on Broadway, Stand Up NY, Caveat, and more. She has been featured in NBCLA, LA Times, Whohaha Comedy Call Out, The Seattle Times, Broadway World, San Diego Union-Tribune, Northwest Asian Weekly, Pix 11 NY, ASAM News, Asian Journal, and other media outlets.
Partnering with NBC, Kiki helped launch the first-ever All Asian Solo Performance Festival at the Santa Monica Playhouse and organized CWA benefit shows to raise funds for the GoFundMe AAPI Fund and Asian Americans Advancing Justice Los Angeles. She is also involved in the award-nominated romantic comedy series "Sweet and Sour Chicks." Listen to and watch the "Crazy Woke Asians with Kiki Yeung" podcast on all major platforms.
