Chloe Domange, an actress, singer, model, producer, and writer, hails from Aix-en-Provence, France, a region known for its mystique, beauty, and elegance. Her mother comes from the American Deep South, while her father is French. Growing up, Chloe’s family relocated several times due to work, allowing her to travel extensively from an early age. She lived in places such as Saudi Arabia, Réunion Island, Mali, and Hong Kong. Later, her adventurous nature led her around the globe, ultimately bringing her to Los Angeles, California.
As a child, Chloe was an avid reader and often created imaginative stories. By age eight, she had developed a strong passion for writing and a deep love of books. In high school, her imagination and enthusiasm for storytelling converged, sparking her fascination with film, the most popular narrative medium of our time. She majored in film studies in high school and directed her first short film, Mystery, in her sophomore year. Chloe admired French New Wave cinema and classic films by directors like Agnès Varda, François Truffaut, and Claude Chabrol. Jacques Demy’s The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, starring Marc Michel, held a special place in her heart.
At 15, Chloe attended the Cannes Film Festival on a school trip, an experience that left her awestruck. Enchanted by the red carpet’s glamour, she began attending the festival regularly. Drawn to the dazzling fashions and festive atmosphere, she developed an interest in modeling. By 17, Chloe had become skilled in modeling, working the showrooms during Paris Fashion Week.
One evening, an American film producer approached Chloe with an acting opportunity for California Stories, a travel show aimed at European audiences, filming in Los Angeles. She eagerly accepted, gaining her first taste of life in the City of Angels.
Upon arriving in Southern California, Chloe instantly felt at home. The city’s mystery and excitement captivated her, and she eagerly embraced her role in the travel show. She filmed episodes in vibrant locations such as Las Vegas, Yosemite, and Hollywood. After production wrapped, her family encouraged her to return to France for law school, but she resolved to one day come back to Los Angeles and make her mark.
Chloe began her first year of law school in Aix-en-Provence, a notoriously demanding program where less than half of students advance to the second year. Despite the rigorous coursework, her passion for acting grew stronger. She recalled a teacher’s suggestion from her childhood to enroll in acting lessons and realized her love for being in front of the camera while working on the travel show. While still in law school, Chloe took theater classes, quickly proving to be a natural. A casting director soon noticed her and offered her a role on the popular French daytime drama Sous Le Soleil, which became a recurring part. Chloe managed to balance her double majors in business law and international taxation with her acting commitments on the acclaimed soap opera.
For her Master’s degree, Chloe needed to complete an internship to graduate, so she moved to Hong Kong, a bustling business hub. She fell in love with the city, which remains dear to her. During her internship, she wrote a business plan for a precious metals company poised to capitalize on market trends and was soon promoted to Vice President. Though success in business was within reach, Chloe could no longer ignore her heart’s calling to pursue acting. Defying her family’s advice, she set her sights on Hollywood.
Stepping off the plane in Los Angeles for the second time, Chloe felt confirmed in her sense of belonging. With little money and a suitcase, fueled by passion, she embarked on her dream. She took various odd jobs to survive, navigating the challenges of a new city with determination. This journey inspired her first book, How to Become a Real L.A. Girl, a fun and insightful guide based on her experiences adjusting to life in the entertainment capital. The book offers simple but powerful wisdom to inspire anyone brave enough to chase their dreams. It has been featured at several film festivals, including the prestigious Paso Robles Digital Film Festival, and is available on Amazon.
In her book, Chloe advises, “All you need to do is trust in yourself.” Living by these words, she has carved out her own path in Los Angeles, bringing her book’s message to life. Her hard work and perseverance have earned her numerous accolades in what seems like a flash. Chloe has appeared in several television and film projects, including a special role working alongside French actor Marc Michel, the male lead in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, a film that holds personal significance for her. She also starred in and produced the independent film 40 Sundays, which she co-wrote, scored, cast, and for which she wrote and recorded seven original songs. Remarkably, she learned to play Eric Satie’s Gymnopédies on piano within three days—without formal training—to perform the piece for the soundtrack, a feat only a prodigy might attempt. In another film, she portrayed a deaf character, mastering sign language quickly and delivering a graceful performance. In 2011, Chloe completed work on We the Party, directed by Mario Van Peebles and featuring stars like Michael Jai White, Snoop Dogg, Orlando Brown, The New Boyz, and The Rejectz.
