Biografia
Christiane Seidel is an American-born actor and producer of German and Danish descent.
She will soon star in the independent films Paradise Highway (2022) (Lionsgate), written and directed by Anna Gutto, alongside Juliette Binoche, Frank Grillo, and Morgan Freeman, as well as Boon (2022) with Neal McDonough.
Christiane appears in Netflix’s acclaimed limited series, The Queen’s Gambit (2020), portraying 'Helen Deardorff' opposite Anya Taylor-Joy, produced by Scott Frank.
International audiences recognize her for the role of 'Sigrid Mueller' opposite Michael Shannon in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire (2010), where she appeared for four seasons in the drama produced by Martin Scorsese and Terrence Winter.
Her recent television credits include FX’s Fosse/Verdon (2019), playing 'Hannah,' Bob Fosse’s mistress and the catalyst for Gwen and Bob’s divorce, opposite Sam Rockwell, and the role of 'Martha,' a mysterious free-spirited woman, in Netflix’s critically praised Godless (2017), produced by Scott Frank and executive produced by Steven Soderbergh. Godless received 12 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Limited Series. Additional work includes the independent film Human Capital (2019), The Hollow (2016) produced by Lisa Bruce, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999).
Christiane is a partner and producer at Red Rope Productions, where she has produced several short films showcased at Academy-qualifying and international film festivals, earning multiple awards and nominations. She also served as Producing Director for the Scandinavian American Theater Company, which presents award-winning Scandinavian plays in the U.S. On stage, she starred in the American Off-Broadway premiere of Then Silence by Norwegian playwright Arne Lygre.
Fluent in English, German, and Danish, Christiane lives in New York with her family.
