Lois Robbins, a native New Yorker, is a seasoned actress. She recently appeared in the independent film The Aspern Papers alongside Vanessa Redgrave, Jolie Richardson, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Her film credits also include Shepherd, directed by Lynn Roth; One Nation Under God, featuring Casper Van Dien, Kevin Sorbo, and Antonio Sabato Jr.; and the YA adventure Kingfish with Molly Ringwald. Robbins stars in independent films such as Blowtorch, opposite Billy Baldwin, Kathy Najimy, and Armand Assante; Juvie, alongside Eric Roberts; and Ithaca, Meg Ryan’s directorial debut, alongside Sam Shepherd, Melanie Griffith, and Meg Ryan. She had a recurring role as art collector Penelope in the fifth season of the TV Land series Younger.
On stage, Robbins has performed at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, Goodspeed Opera, Trinity Repertory, Studio Arena Theater, Rubicon Theater, Schoolhouse Theater, and Roundabout Theater. Her film appearances include Town and Country, The Screammaker, Hudson River Blues, and Motherhood. She is well known for her roles on daytime television, including One Life to Live, Loving, Ryan’s Hope, and All My Children. Additional TV guest appearances include Sex and the City, Law & Order, Kingpin, Once and Again, Law & Order: SVU, and Blue Bloods.
Robbins has starred in two world premiere musical comedies: My History of Marriage, by Academy Award and two-time Grammy winner David Shire, Lee Kalcheim, and Samuel Kalcheim, presented at the 2011 New York Music Theatre Festival; and A Time for Love by David Shire and Richard Maltby, Jr., staged at the Rubicon Theatre Company and the Roundabout Theater’s Black Box. She also played Stephanie Dickinson in Cactus Flower at the Westside Arts Theater, produced by Daryl Roth. In spring, Robbins starred in her own one-act comic play, L.O.V.E.R., in New York and Los Angeles. Directed by Sonia Sebastian, the play explores childhood, adolescence, and adulthood from a grown woman’s perspective. L.O.V.E.R. was featured in the 2018 United Solo Festival in NYC to sold-out audiences. In August, L.O.V.E.R. will make its Off-Broadway debut, written and performed by Robbins and directed by Karen Carpenter. The limited run begins Wednesday, August 21, with the official opening on September 8 at The Pershing Square Signature Center – The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre.
