Biografia
Victory Tischler-Blue is an American film producer, director, writer, and photographer, renowned for her impactful and unsettling 2005 debut feature, "Edgeplay: A Film About the Runaways." The film draws from Tischler-Blue's experience with the influential 1970s all-female teenage rock band the Runaways, which also launched the careers of rock icons Lita Ford and Joan Jett.
Raised in Newport Beach, California, Tischler-Blue entered the entertainment world at 17 when she joined the Runaways. Although the band was active for only three and a half years, their influence profoundly transformed rock 'n' roll and continues to resonate in the music industry today.
Following the band's breakup, Tischler-Blue was cast by director Rob Reiner in the comedy classic "This Is Spinal Tap." Inspired by the filmmaking process, she shifted her focus from music to film. Collaborating with Academy Award-winner Rob Blalack (Star Wars), she developed her expertise in cutting-edge visual effects before transitioning to a producer role.
In 2003, Tischler-Blue founded Sacred Dogs Entertainment Group, LLC, a motion picture production company. Her acclaimed documentary debut, "Edgeplay: A Film About the Runaways," was acquired by Showtime Networks, where it aired for two years with over 200 screenings and later achieved notable DVD success.
In 2010, another Runaways-related feature film, "The Runaways," starring Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, and Scout Taylor-Compton, was released. Directed by Floria Sigismondi, who cited Tischler-Blue's "Edgeplay" as an inspiration for parts of her film.
Tischler-Blue was personally selected by Bee Gee Robin Gibb to executive produce the network special "The Bee Gees 'Unbroken Fever' – The 30th Anniversary of Saturday Night Fever." She also recently completed production on "Naked Under Leather," a film about 1970s leather-clad glam rocker Suzi Quatro, scheduled for release in 2010.
Currently, Tischler-Blue is executive producing two television series: "El Guitarrista," in collaboration with producer and songwriter Dick Wagner, and the dark, edgy episodic drama "Rarebirds."
She is also developing a film and book project celebrating the life and work of 1960s male physique photographer Mel Roberts.
A skilled photographer, Tischler-Blue has spent over two decades crafting dramatic single-frame images, known for her intimate celebrity portraits, stark surreal desert landscapes, and photographs of pure Spanish horses. In 2010, she plans to publish a photography book titled "Pura Raza Testosterone," showcasing the raw, primal beauty of Andalusian stallions.
In the third quarter of 2010, Tischler-Blue will launch "Desert Seven," her new internet television network featuring a diverse lineup of streamed content, with a focus on episodic web dramas produced and directed by some of the industry's most innovative filmmakers.
