Biografia
Jorge de Juan is a distinguished Spanish actor, producer, and director.
He trained as an actor at the Spanish Royal School of Dramatic Art and the British Theatre Association (Direction and Production). He is a member of both the Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences of Spain and the Academy of Performing Arts.
As an actor, he has performed in over 20 plays and more than 40 films and television series, starring in over 30 projects. Notable theatre works include Blood Wedding, Caligula, Oedipus Rex, Macbeth, The City and the Dogs, Richard III, Motor, The 39 Steps, and The Woman in Black. His film credits include Open Your Eyes, The Bicycles Are for the Summer, The Best of Times, Silence in the Snow, Talk of Angels, One of the Hollywood Ten, Beltenebros, Grimsby, The Builders of the Alhambra, and Jerusalem: City of Faith and Fury.
As a director and producer, he has led numerous productions such as The Public, The Grain Store, End of the Rainbow, Dracula, The 39 Steps, The Woman in Black, Blood Wedding, The Divorce Judge, The House of Bernarda Alba, and Yerma, all of which have enjoyed critical acclaim and audience success in both Spain and the United Kingdom.
In addition to his work in Spain, he founded the Cervantes Theatre in London, the first Spanish-speaking theatre in British history, serving as the headquarters for the Spanish Theatre Company.
Jorge de Juan received the Francisco Rabal Film Award for his leading role in El Mejor de los Tiempos by Felipe Vega, which won at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. He also earned the Billboard Turia Theatre Award in 1998 for his performance in The Woman in Black. His 2007 film Bala Perdida, starring David Carradine, won Best Film and Best Soundtrack at the Mostra de Valencia Film Awards. Additionally, he co-produced the Serbian film Kordon, which won the Grand Prix des Amériques at the Montréal World Film Festival.
He is set to star in upcoming TV series for RTVE titled Asuntos Internos and La Palma for Netflix.
