Biografia
Gabriel Alejandro Sabogal Sanchez (born June 26, 1992) is a Colombo-Spaniard filmmaker, producer, writer, and director, celebrated for his innovative contributions to the entertainment and advertising industries. A graduate of Universidad Central of Bogotá (2012) and Universidad Sergio Arboleda (2018), Alejandro distinguished himself as the most awarded student in his class, earning three consecutive years of creative advertising accolades for prestigious clients such as Coca-Cola, Avianca Airlines, and Claro, the largest telecommunications company in Latin America, led by billionaire Carlos Slim.
Alejandro launched his film career with the creation of Empties, a seven-episode drama series produced without financial backing or prior industry experience. This groundbreaking project became the first drama series to debut on Colombia's inaugural independent entertainment web platform, led by Claudia Cruz, CEO of Yerbabuena Films. The success of Empties earned Alejandro a Revelation Talent Award and paved the way for his second self-produced series, Money Boycott. Seeking to further hone his craft, Sabogal relocated to the United States, where he completed a one-year conservatory program at the New York Film Academy. During this time, he collaborated with fellow filmmakers and created Yacht Kings Entertainment, the first reality show focused on the yachting industry, revolutionizing advertising for boat vendors in South Florida. The series is set to premiere on YouTube in 2024.
Known for his bold and conservative worldview, Sabogal directed the short film Tinna the Casting, a powerful commentary on the role of women in the entertainment industry during the #MeToo era. The film gained recognition shortly before Hollywood's collective stand for women's rights at the 90th Academy Awards, underscoring Alejandro's commitment to addressing social issues through his work.
Currently based in Nashville TN, Alejandro is deeply immersed in the music industry, collaborating with musicians to produce films that showcase their creative processes and tours. He is also dedicated to mentoring emerging artists, helping them navigate the industry and amplify their voices on a global stage with his new podcast platform (THE NASHVILLE TALENT SHOW). With a unique blend of creativity, determination, and social awareness, Gabriel Alejandro Sabogal continues to make a significant impact across film, television, and music, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and visionary storyteller.
