Since graduating Magna Cum Laude from Brown University and pursuing graduate studies at the Rhode Island School of Design, Ms. Gossels has served as casting director and, in many cases, producer for over 90 film productions in New York. Her feature film casting credits include "Something's Gotta Give" starring Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton; "Godsend" featuring Robert DeNiro; the collaborative feature "Visitors" by Philip Glass and Godfrey Reggio; Joe Maggio's Sundance favorite "Milk & Honey"; Duncan Roy's "Picture of Dorian Gray" starring David Gallagher, Aleksa Palladino, and Christian Camargo; Lance Doty's Western "Shoot First and Pray You Live" with James Russo, Jim Gaffigan, Richard Tyson, and John Doman; Co-Producer and Casting Director for William Heins' feature "Humdinger" starring David Moscow; and most recently, Nemanja Bala's critically acclaimed indie feature "Love Hunter."
Ms. Gossels has also cast and produced more than 30 award-winning short films, including the Academy Award winner "Zen and the Art of Landscaping" featuring Mark Blum and Jacob Pitts; "Young Americans" starring Lukas Haas; "Wrigley" with Peter Gerety, Matt Malloy, and Tom Aldredge; "Walls" starring Norman Reedus and Jayce Bartok; "Herb" featuring Amanda Peet; "Bright" starring Eric Stoltz; Academy Award nominee Joan Stein's "Solidarity" with Michael Stuhlbarg; "5G" starring Ramon Rodriguez; "Falling Objects" featuring Timothy Hutton, Melissa Leo, and Mireille Enos; "Hi-Yah" starring Lynn Cohen; "Something for Henry" with Sabrina Lloyd; "Daypass" starring James Urbaniak; "Blue Funk" featuring Vincent Pastore; and the recent award-winning short "Happenstance" starring Margaret Colin and Jay O. Sanders, which aired on HBO last year. Additionally, "TUB," another recent short, premiered at Sundance. Upcoming short films include "Honey Flood" starring Julian Sands; "Emunah" featuring Rebecca Schull and Dan Ziskie; and "The Last Day of Charlie Ray" starring Len Cariou and Maryann Plunkett, for which Ms. Gossels also served as producer.
Her television casting work spans a wide range of projects, including Comedy Central's "Night of Too Many Stars" hosted by Jon Stewart and featuring Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Sarah Silverman, and others; HBO's "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver"; segments for "The Daily Show"; Sesame Street's short film series "The Child Resiliency Project"; and segments for NBC's "The Apprentice" and "Celebrity Apprentice." She managed specialty casting for two seasons of IFC's "Z Rock" and Disney's 2009 series "Disney's Celebration Showdown."
Upcoming television casting credits include the series "American Caravan," produced by Academy Award winner Jerome Gary.
Ms. Gossels has also cast TV promos, image campaigns, and hosts for all major networks, including NBC's "The Event"; FOX's "Gotham," "Sleepy Hollow," and the upcoming "Scream Queens"; show opens for Discovery Channel's "The Future Of"; principals for Lifetime's "Mom's Cooking"; the Spike TV pilot "Get Your Sack Back"; "Sesame Street Tilly"; Discovery Channel Original Movie "Perfect Disaster"; and hosts for A&E, Nick@Nite, and TV Land.
Over her 20-year career, Ms. Gossels has cast thousands of major media campaigns and national commercials—many CLIO winners—for clients ranging from Maybelline to Merck to Microsoft, working with top production companies such as Disney, Ridley Scott Associates, Viacom, and Firstborn Multimedia.
In recent years, she has been Casting Director for the innovative hybrid entertainment production "The Ride," created by the team behind Blue Man Group, Michael Counts of Counts Media, and legendary comedy writer Bruce Vilanch, which began its Times Square run in 2011.
Finally, Ms. Gossels serves as producer and casting director for the prestigious Sloan Foundation Award-Winning Screenplay Reading Event at the Hamptons International Film Festival each year, assembling stellar casts including Melissa Leo, Richard Kind, Steve Guttenberg, Fisher Stevens, Michael Stuhlbarg, Harris Yulin, and Chris Bauer. She also acts as a juror for the Woodstock Film Festival, Hamptons International Film Festival, and the Student Academy Awards.
