Biografia
Diva Tyler, born in Florida, began her acting career in her early teens while living in Harlem, New York. At 16, she joined The American Negro Ensemble Theatre, founded by Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee.
Her theatrical career flourished with significant roles, including the one-woman show "Sweet Chariot," depicting Harriet Tubman's life from ages 5 to 93; the Off-Broadway production "Wait Until Dark," where she portrayed Susy Hendrix, a blind woman pursued by henchmen; and the award-winning stage production "For Colored Girls..." as the Lady in Purple.
In 2011, Diva transitioned from theater to television and film, appearing in notable projects such as "Eastbound and Down" starring Will Ferrell and Danny McBride, Disney's "Let It Shine" featuring Courtney Vance and Tyler Williams, "Local Talent" with Nathan Lane, the horror film "Prosper," VH1's "Single Ladies" starring Lisa Raye, the top-grossing film "Identity Thief" with Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman, "The Last Exorcism II," and "Killing Winston Jones," starring Danny Glover and Academy Award winner Richard Dreyfuss.
Outside of acting, Diva Tyler dedicates her time to global efforts focused on preventing sexual child abuse and supporting commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC). In 2012, she received a nomination for the "Live Your Legacy Award."
Additionally, Diva is a spoken word artist, motivational speaker, and professional consultant.
She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
