Allie Gonino was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and raised in Heath, a small suburb of Dallas. As the youngest of three half-siblings, she discovered her ambitions early on. A deep passion for the arts has always driven her, sparked at age four by a chance encounter with the pre-fame country group, The Dixie Chicks. Inspired by Martie Maguire’s fiddle playing, Allie asked her mother for violin lessons. Throughout her childhood, she trained in ballet, hip-hop, and jazz dance, played violin with the Dallas Youth Orchestra, and frequently performed country music at local opry houses. Music profoundly influenced her life, though acting also captivated her, inspired by the classic film, The Wizard of Oz. By sixteen, Allie and her mother moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams.
In 2007, Allie's career took a new turn when Colleen Fitzpatrick (also known as pop singer Vitamin C) contacted her representative to form an all-girl pop group. After auditioning, Allie joined The Stunners. The group was initially signed to Columbia Records, then Universal Republic. They released an EP and four music videos—two of which the members wrote, directed, and produced independently. Their songs were played on numerous Top 40 radio stations, and in 2010, they opened for Justin Bieber on his My World Tour. The band disbanded in 2011 when Allie landed the role of Laurel Mercer on ABC Family’s original series, The Lying Game. Although the show was canceled after one and a half seasons, Allie continues to balance acting with creating music, performing with her folk band The Good Mad, and launching a solo music career.
When not working, Allie enjoys yoga, reading, writing, dancing, and traveling. She is also dedicated to raising awareness about climate change and the global water crisis, collaborating closely with The Thirst Project, a nonprofit organization that constructs wells in developing countries.
