Biografia
Loris Loddi is an English-speaking Italian actor born in Rome. He began his acting career in 1961 with "Gli Invasori," directed by Mario Bava, portraying Young Prince Erik. In 1962, he appeared in "Cleopatra," directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, as Cesarione, son of Cleopatra (Elizabeth Taylor) and Julius Caesar (Rex Harrison). In 1963, he was personally chosen by Luchino Visconti for the theater role of Il Diavolo (The Devil) in "Il Diavolo In Giardino," performed at Teatro Massimo di Palermo, with original music by Maestro Franco Mannino. That same year, he played Marzio Ciano alongside Silvana Mangano in "Il Processo di Verona," directed by Carlo Lizzani.
More recently, in 2018, he portrayed The Psychologist in "Come Quando Fuori Piove" with Virginia Raffaele. In 2020, he played Spartaco in "E Buonanotte," directed by Massimo Cappelli. In 2021, he took on the role of Felice Sbarra in the Rai1 TV series "Un Professore," directed by Alessandro D'Alatri, and appeared as the Judge in Ridley Scott’s film "House of Gucci." In the new Massimo Cappelli film "Before We Say Goodbye," he plays Professor Celli. Also in 2021, he portrayed the graphic artist who designed the logo for Ferruccio Lamborghini in "Lamborghini: The Legend," directed by Bobby Moresco.
In 2023, he played Cardinal Villanueva in "Conclave," directed by Edward Berger; although his character was cut from the final film, this was not due to any fault of his. In 2024, under the direction of Enrico Rosati for Rai1’s official production "La Farfalla Impazzita," aired on Memorial Day, Loddi portrays the key witness sentenced to life imprisonment, Erich Priebke, commander of the SS responsible for the Ardeatine massacre during the Nazi occupation of Rome. Also in 2024, he appears as an Italian politician in the Netflix film "La Dolce Villa," directed by Mark Waters.
