Laura Colucci is a South African Producer with a background in media law. University of São Paulo and Getúlio Vargas trained Media Lawyer Specialist with a 360-degree grasp of multi-platform content environment with substantial international exposure, Laura was Legal Intellectual Property Manager for 13 years at Abril Group one of the largest media group in South America, licensee in Brazil, at that time, of Viacom, National Geographic Society, Huffington Post, Rodale, Hearst and Hachette, working with intellectual property, image, publicity and privacy rights, consumer law and broadcast regulations. Getting involved in filmmaking in 2015 as producer, her first film was a co-production between South Africa and Brazil, the documentary "The March of the White Elephants", directed by Craig Tanner, about the business model of the World Cup, looking at the experiences in South Africa in 2010 and Brazil in 2014, launched in Brasil in 2015 at the Festival do Rio 2015. In 2018, Laura moved to South Africa and founded Storyscope, a Johannesburg-based production company, and co-produced the documentary "Influence", an international co-production between South Africa and Canada, directed by Richard Poplak and Diana Neille, and premiered at Sundance in January 2020. Laura produced the first true-crime series for Netflix in South Africa, "Senzo: Murder of a Soccer Star", released globally in April 2022. She also produced "Beauty and the Bester", Netflix's second true-crime series in South Africa, launched globally in September 2025.
