Biografia
Amparo Barcia is a Spanish-Mexican actress holding a BFA in Theatre/Acting from Long Island University, NY. Born in Valencia, she began acting in theatre productions during middle and high school. In college, she portrayed Clytemnestra in The Oresteia (earning ACTF nominations for both the role and the production in 2006), Caliban in The Tempest (ACTF nomination for her role in 2007), The Bride in Blood Wedding, and Iphigenia in "Third Child," an adaptation of The Oresteia that was showcased at the Fringe Theatre Festival in Prague (summer 2007) and in New York City (fall 2007). She graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors. Following graduation, she worked in commercials and music videos across New York, Spain, and Mexico. Her television credits include The Time In Between (2013), Niños Robados (2013), Guerra de Ídolos (2017), Luis Miguel: La serie (2018), and La Guzmán (2019). In 2015, she won Best Actress at the 48 hrs Film Project for her role in the short film "Por Piedad, Alejandra." Her film appearances include Martini, Il Valenciano (2008), Entre Dos Reinos (2011), La Boda de Valentina (2018), and Yo, Fausto (2019), in which she played Carmen. "Yo Fausto" was featured in numerous film festivals worldwide during 2019 and 2020, such as the San Diego Latin Film Festival, Lleida - Mostra de Cinema Llatinoamericá de Catalunya (Spain), where it won the Audience Award, Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) — a Class A festival, and the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) in Mexico. She is fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, and French.
