With an impressive career spanning more than 35 years in film and television, Lauro Chartrand-DelValle offers extensive, diverse expertise and an award-winning background to each project. Starting as an internationally acclaimed Stuntman, Coordinator, and Fight Arranger on iconic films like "The Last Samurai," Lauro evolved into a respected Director, Writer, and Producer, gaining a deep, hands-on understanding of all aspects of filmmaking. His outstanding contributions have earned him a SAG Award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble for FX's celebrated series "Shogun," as well as multiple Leo Awards and a UBCP/ACTRA Award, highlighting his dedication to quality.
Lauro’s lifelong passion for storytelling fuels his creative outlook. Throughout his career, he has continually sought opportunities to channel his unique vision and imagination, contributing to numerous critically praised projects across different formats.
Recently, Lauro directed, wrote, and produced the feature film "Protectors of the Land," based on true events and featuring Oscar-nominee Graham Greene, Tim Rozon, Nathaniel Arcand, and Tanaya Beatty. His extensive resume also includes key roles as Stunt Coordinator and Second Unit Director on productions such as "Shogun" (starring Hiroyuki Sanada), CBS's "Tracker" (starring Justin Hartley), and the final season of Fox's "Prison Break."
Of Mexican/Aztec descent and holding dual citizenship in the US and Canada, Lauro draws upon his rich heritage, decades of direct experience, and strong problem-solving abilities to carefully craft and direct every scene and character. Based in Vancouver, Canada, his global perspective and versatility enable him to create compelling, authentic cinematic experiences, supported by a solid record of industry accolades.
