Andre de Vanny is an award-winning Australian actor with over 15 years of experience working extensively in both Australia and the United States.
He began his career at a young age, gaining recognition starring in the international hit series Wicked Science. Since then, Andre has featured in major productions in both the US and Australia, including the upcoming feature film The Combination 2, directed by David Fields. His US credits include leading roles in acclaimed mini-series such as Hercules, Steven King's Nightmares & Dreamscapes, Salem's Lot, and DreamWorks/HBO’s The Pacific. His film appearances include the popular Australian feature Hating Alison Ashley, Under a Red Moon, and Nice Shootin' Cowboy.
Andre has appeared in prominent Australian TV series across all major networks, including Blue Heelers, MDA, Canal Road, Rush, City Homicide, Killing Time, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, and The Doctor Blake Mysteries. He is also an established voice artist, currently working on the animated series Nate is Late and having voiced key roles in Dogstar, Li'l Larrikins, and The Flaming Thongs!
A 2008 graduate of Melbourne’s prestigious 16th Street Actors Studio, Andre was invited to study with Ivana Chubbuck in Los Angeles. After completing a year of training with Ivana in 2011, he returned to Australia to star opposite Colin Friels in the Melbourne Theatre Company's hit production of Red. He then portrayed Private David Taylor in the National Theatre’s West End hit War Horse, performing over 300 shows across Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
In 2015, Andre won Best Actor at the Green Room Awards for his role in Glory Dazed with Red Stitch Theatre Company. He earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 2016 Sydney Theatre Awards for his performance in the award-winning production Of Mice and Men for Sport for Jove Theatre Company. In 2017, he played Don Pedro in the comedy hit The Rover at Belvoir St Theatre and starred in the world premiere of the Australian play Night Slows Down for Bakehouse Theatre Company.
Andre’s recent one-man show Swansong has received widespread critical acclaim, selling out two seasons at Sydney’s Old Fitz Theatre and Melbourne’s Metanoia Theatre. He is currently touring Swansong in the US, where the production has been ‘Ovation!’ recommended by the LA Stage Alliance.
