Matt Nagin is an author, comedian, and actor with five published books, numerous film and TV roles, and stand-up performances in seven countries. His notable TV appearances include a recent co-star role on Amazon's Hunters (produced by Jordan Peele), acting alongside Al Pacino. He also played Sgt. Harris, a lead role in Discovery's Street Justice: The Bronx, and portrayed Jeff, a criminal associate in Homicide City.
His film work features roles in Demetri Martin's Dean, Tango Shalom (starring Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna), and Price For Freedom with Paul Sorvino. Matt’s films have screened at The Tribeca Film Festival, The Hoboken International Film Festival, The Nice International Film Festival, and are available on Amazon, Netflix, and other platforms. Most recently, he starred in the TV pilot Brooklyn Vans from Veritas Arts International and writer/director Daniel Jordano, which received rave reviews in NYC.
Matt’s one-man show, Woolly Mammoth Panic Attack, was performed at The Edinburgh Comedy Festival, earning praise as "brilliantly irreverent" and "a stellar success." His comedy has appeared on The Dr. Steve Show (WPIX), The Wendy Williams Show (FOX), and various reality and network programs on A&E, Lifetime, Travel Channel, and MTV.
As a writer/director, Matt’s debut film Inside Job premiered at The Mediterranean Film Festival Cannes, winning Best Short. It was later nominated for Best USA Feature at The International Film Festival Manhattan and earned Matt Best Supporting Actor at The Nice International Film Festival. His second short, Sorry Mom, was officially selected for All The Laughs Comedy Awards, Wavestock Film Festival, and The International Film Festival Manhattan, receiving excellent reviews.
Matt’s writing has appeared in Across The Margin, The New York Post, and Writer’s Digest, and is included in anthologies such as New York’s Best Emerging Poets and Rabbit Hole: Weird Stories Volume 5. Tenth Street Press published his humor book Do Not Feed The Clown; he has also released a story collection and three poetry books. His poem "If We Are Doomed," from his second poetry book, won the 2018 Spirit First Editor’s Choice Award.
Additionally, Matt served for several years as a Talent and Show Coordinator for The Gotham Comedy Foundation, a nonprofit that brings comedians to hospitals and senior centers.
