Nadeem Soumah is a seasoned filmmaker with over two decades of experience. Trained in Canada at York University and the Trebas Institute of the Arts, he launched his career directing music videos. Renowned for his dynamic storytelling, Nadeem quickly became one of Canada's most sought-after music video directors, creating a portfolio of more than 200 videos. Relocating to Los Angeles, he shifted focus to his passion for narrative filmmaking. His diverse credits include directing and writing numerous feature films, spanning independent art house productions, theatrically released action crime thrillers, and network television movies. His debut feature, Searching for Angels, received critical acclaim on the festival circuit, paving the way for his next project, the commercial crime thriller 6 Ways to Die. The strength of Nadeem's screenplay attracted a star-studded cast, with Vinnie Jones calling it "one of the best he's ever read." Demonstrating his ability to deliver commercially successful films, Nadeem has since directed nearly a dozen more projects through his Los Angeles-based production company, Formula Features. Maintaining a rigorous pace of three films per year while serving as both director and cinematographer, he has earned recognition in the industry, with his films securing domestic and international distribution through companies like eOne, Lionsgate, and Lifetime. Known as an actor’s director, Nadeem’s extensive cinematography experience enhances his agility and problem-solving skills on set. Drawing from his multicultural background—born to a Guinean father and Indian mother, raised in West Africa, educated in France as a student and aspiring soccer player, and later moving to Canada during his formative years—he infuses his work with rich, diverse perspectives. Currently, Nadeem is in post-production on Impropriety and is developing a new project set in his native Guinea, aiming to nurture the emerging film industry there and introduce Hollywood-level production values to the region.
