Hari Won was born in Seoul, South Korea, on June 22, 1985. Her father is Vietnamese, and her mother is Korean. Her father moved to Korea in the 1970s, where he met her mother. Their marriage faced disapproval from her mother's family because her father owned few properties, and at that time, Korean society was less accepting of biracial marriages. Despite the lack of approval, they married. According to KBS, she experienced an unhappy childhood due to her mother's family's rejection of her parents' marriage and the discrimination her family faced as a biracial family. Her name means "you will get anything you wish for" in Korean, with "Won" being the Korean equivalent of "Nguyen."
In 2007, she relocated to Vietnam after her father fell ill and has lived there since. In 2010, she began studying Vietnamese at Ho Chi Minh University of Social Sciences and Humanities. She currently resides and works in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and speaks Vietnamese, Korean, English, and some Japanese.
She participated in the 2013 season of Cuộc Đua Kỳ Thú (Amazing Race) alongside her then-boyfriend, rapper Đinh Tiến Đạt, which increased her public recognition.
Hari Won released her debut single "Hương Đêm Bay Xa" in 2014, followed by popular songs such as "Anh Cứ Đi Đi," "Cuối Cùng Anh Cũng Đến," "Without You," "Có Chàng Chỉ Là Giấc Mơ," "Lạ Cả Bầu Trời," and others.
She made her acting debut as the female lead in the 2014 Vietnamese film "Chàng Trai Năm Ấy," one of the year's most successful films, starring alongside Sơn Tùng M-TP, Hứa Vĩ Văn, Ngô Kiến Huy, and Phạm Quỳnh Anh.
In January 2016, she announced her breakup with rapper Đinh Tiến Đạt after nine years of dating.
By April 2016, she confirmed her relationship with well-known Vietnamese actor and comedian Huỳnh Trấn Thành. The couple married on December 25, 2016, in Ho Chi Minh City.
