Shelley Robertson is an actress based in Los Angeles, California. She is best recognized for her leading role as "Donna" in the Movie of the Week, "The Ditchdigger's Daughters," as well as her numerous long-running TV commercials, including Jif Peanut Butter (the mother sending Jif in a care package to her college daughter), Xerox (one of the Greek chorus members), and McDonald's (Ronald McDonald Happy Meal mom). Shelley's recent guest roles include Mali on "Code Black" (aired 11/25/15), Frankie on "Extant," and appearances on "CSI: Cyber," "NCIS," and "The Newsroom."
With performing in her DNA, Shelley was born in Philadelphia, PA, and began singing and acting in school productions during middle school. She moved from Philadelphia to Atlanta, GA, where she attended Emory University, earning a degree in Political Science and planning to attend law school. After working a 9-5 job in Atlanta city government and completing half of her master's degree in Public Administration, her passion led her in a different direction. Shelley's professional acting career began working with Howard E. Rollins and Carroll O'Connor on "In the Heat of the Night." Within a few years, she relocated to Los Angeles.
Early in her LA career, the theater called to her, and she was honored with a LA Weekly nomination for Best Actress for "Joe Louis Blues" and a NAACP Theatre Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for "Long Time Since Yesterday." Shelley's most fulfilling role to date has been motherhood. She has since worked extensively in commercials, a pursuit she continues today. Recent commercials include Bayer Aspirin and Chase Bank, with a DirectTV spot completed.
Along her journey, Shelley has had recurring roles on "Cold Case," "Brothers and Sisters," and "Greek," and has appeared on critically acclaimed shows such as "Everybody Loves Raymond," "ER," "Touched By An Angel," "The West Wing," "CSI" and "CSI: Miami," "Grey's Anatomy," "Southland," and more. Though every day feels like the start of a new chapter in her career, Shelley is excited to complete her first book, produce a screenplay and pilot she has written, and establish her brand through her production company, Hawk Productions LLC.
