Biografia
Nikolai Marton is a Russian character actor affiliated with the Aleksandrinsky (Pushkin) Drama Theatre in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg).
Born Nikolai Sergeevich Marton on September 10, 1934, in Ukraine, Soviet Union, he studied acting at the Kyiv State Theatre Institute from 1954 to 1958, graduating as an actor. Between 1958 and 1962, he performed at the Gorky Drama Theatre in Simferopol, Crimea. Since 1962, Marton has been a permanent member of the Aleksandrinsky (Pushkin) Drama Theatre troupe in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). Throughout his career there, he worked alongside distinguished actors such as Konstantin Adashevsky, Nikolay Cherkasov, Yuri Yuryev, Nikolai Simonov, Vasiliy Merkurev, Illarion Pevtsov, Konstantin Skorobogatov, Yuriy Tolubeev, Aleksandr Borisov, Bruno Frejndlikh, Vladimir Chestnokov, Vladimir Erenberg, Nikolai Fomenko, Igor Gorbachyov, Olga Lebzak, Nina Mamaeva, Lidiya Shtykan, Nina Urgant, Galina Karelina, and other prominent Russian performers. Marton was honored with the title of People's Artist of Russia. He currently resides in St. Petersburg, Russia.
