Mr. Chieffo, an actor with over forty years of experience, was born and raised in New York and studied acting at The Juilliard School. His film credits include collaborations with esteemed directors such as Barry Levinson on Disclosure, Tony Scott on Crimson Tide, Lawrence Kasden on I Love You To Death, Harold Becker on Mercury Rising, Mike Mills on Beginners, and notably Curtis Hanson, playing the coroner in L.A. Confidential.
His television guest appearances include Better Call Saul, Castle, Mad Men, Criminal Minds, The Closer, The Mentalist, Without a Trace, Bones, West Wing, Boston Legal, CSI, Roswell, and a memorable role as the deranged Carl Wade on The X-Files.
Among his favorite roles are portraying Art Carney opposite Brad Garrett’s Jackie Gleason in the CBS movie Gleason, and playing Dave Madden/Reuben Kincaid in ABC’s Come On Get Happy, The Partridge Family Story.
Michael found great fulfillment playing the lead role of Curtis, a severely socially phobic man, in the independent feature Unreal Estate, directed by Todd Malkin and Nick Huntington. The film premiered at the IFS Film Festival, winning Best Dramatic Feature and ultimately Best Picture of the festival.
He has completed roles in the films Ben and Ara, Ben Affleck’s Live by Night, and portrayed Billie Jean King’s father in Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris’ Battle of the Sexes. Recently, he was excited to guest star on NCIS.
Most recently, Mr. Chieffo received a Best Supporting Actor nomination from the Chlotrudis Society in 2022 for his role in Fully Realized Humans, directed by Joshua Leonard.
Michael is happily married to actress Beth Grant, and their daughter Mary Chieffo continues the family’s theatrical legacy.
