Biografia
Jessica Zeylmaker is an actress.
After graduating from the Academy for Drama in Arnhem, she has performed with various theatre companies and has also initiated several of her own productions. From 2008 to 2014, she was part of the artistic team of the theatre group TG Sonja under artistic director Jori Hermsen. Additionally, she has appeared in several Dutch television series, including Van Gogh: The Legacy, Charlie, The Secrets of Barslet, The Four of Westwijk, Godforsaken II, Cops Maastricht, The Power of Mr. Miller, Bernhard: Scoundrel of Orange, Juliana II, and The Co-ed.
The film Nono het Zigzag Kind (The Zigzag Kid), directed by Vincent Bal and based on David Grossman’s bestseller, premiered in September 2012 as the opening film at the Dutch Film Festival. Jessica played the role of Gaby, alongside international stars such as Fedja van Huêt and Isabella Rossellini. The film was nominated at several international festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the Berlinale in Berlin (2013). It also won numerous awards, including the EFA Young Audience Award 2013 for Best European Youth Movie. The film was screened in US theaters in 2014.
The film Spijt! (Regret!) achieved platinum status in the Netherlands after attracting 400,000 viewers to theaters. It won the Young Audience Award 2014 for Best European Youth Movie. The DVD of Spijt!, directed by Dutch filmmaker Dave Schram, is now available in stores.
The successful EO drama series The Van Gogh Legacy, produced by Endemol Netherlands and sold internationally by Dutch film sales agent Features Global Entertainment, has been broadcast in seven countries. This original four-part series has aired in South Korea, Germany, Italy, the former Yugoslavia, Slovenia, Lithuania, and Taiwan.
From 2015 onwards, Jessica is featured on stage in the performance A Family Portrait at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam.
The short film De Smet (The Spot), directed by Wim Geudens and Thomas Baerten, has been screened at festivals in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and France. Jessica played the female lead, Sarah.
Jessica is currently filming De Affaire, a Dutch television series.
