Biografia
From humble beginnings on the thirty-mile island of St. Thomas to becoming a New York Times bestselling author living in Los Angeles, Karrine Steffans has traveled a remarkable journey. The first twenty-five years of her complex yet captivating past are detailed in her memoir, Confessions of a Video Vixen, published by HarperCollins, rendering a traditional biography nearly unnecessary. Since its release on June 28, 2005, Karrine and her compelling story have captivated widespread attention.
Numerous media outlets, including Paula Zahn, Donny Deutsch, Tyra Banks, Bill O'Reilly, and daytime icon Oprah Winfrey, have featured Karrine, helping to elevate her profile. She has also contributed satirical commentary to HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher. This surge into the spotlight led publishing powerhouse Hachette Book Group USA/Grand Central Publishing (formerly Warner Books) to sign Karrine to two contracts for three additional books.
Karrine’s first project with Hachette, a continuation of her memoir, is another New York Times bestseller titled The Vixen Diaries, published in September 2007. In March 2007, she launched her own imprint, Steffans Publishing, through which she aids emerging writers in entering the publishing world. Receiving hundreds of submissions monthly via SteffansPublishing.com, Karrine and her team carefully review each synopsis. Those deemed suitable are presented to major publishing houses with which she maintains strong connections.
Adding magazine contributor to her achievements, Karrine’s first article appeared in the October 2008 issue of XXL Magazine, offering an intimate look at her publicly scrutinized yet misunderstood relationship with music artist Lil Wayne.
She also serves as a staff writer for Telepictures’ online platform MomLogic.com and Fox News Corporation’s FNC-iMag.com. Karrine’s third New York Times bestseller, The Vixen Manual: How to Find, Seduce & Keep the Man You Want, debuted on NBC’s The Today Show on July 13, 2009, instantly becoming a bestseller.
Having signed a third publishing deal for her fourth book, Karrine continues to explore opportunities in radio, television, and film, seeking the ideal avenues to grow her brand. She is attached to a reality show for a major cable network, with details to be announced later. Since July 2007, her personal website, Karrine.com, has attracted over 6 million visitors, solidifying her status as a rising pop culture icon.
A married mother of two, Karrine marvels at her accomplishments in such a short time and embraces the transition from her twenties into a new chapter. Despite her busy professional life, she prioritizes motherhood, drawing love and strength from her family. Working from home grants her the flexibility to thrive as both a literary figure and a parent, a balance she cherishes.
Karrine Steffans stands as living proof that change is positive and that confession can be healing. Above all, she embodies the timeless truth: to whom much is given, much is required — and her personal motto: starting off wrong doesn’t mean you won’t end up right.
