Desarae Dee is an internationally and institutionally recognized award-winning Canadian Fusion Artist, composer, producer, educator, and GRAMMY® voting member known globally as The Queen of Vibes and currently creating within her transformative era as The Sonic Midwife. She is the Chief Executive Founding Officer (CEFO) of Desarae Dee Music Group Inc. (DDMG), a multidisciplinary music company focused on innovative performance, composition, production, arts education, cultural programming, and immersive sonic experiences.
Blending Jazz, Gospel, Soul, and Electronic influences, Desarae composes and produces cinematic, atmospheric musical experiences rooted in rich harmonic language and emotional storytelling. Her work bridges artistry, education, and innovation while creating immersive sonic experiences that resonate across live performance, digital media, and institutional spaces. Since launching her career in 2014, she has built a dynamic global presence through visionary artistry, educational leadership, and creative innovation.
Her viral multi-platform #4ChordWorship series has amassed nearly five million combined views, positioning her as one of today’s leading voices in modern instrumental music and digital music education. She has performed on major stages including NAMM, Canadian Music Week, Sofar Sounds Toronto, Waveland Canada, and Toronto Pearson International Airport, where she completed an eight-week solo artist residency showcasing Canadian artistry within one of the country’s busiest international hubs.
A proud Yamaha, Hammond Organ USA, and Juicy Earz Artist, Desarae has toured nationally and internationally with acclaimed hip-hop/jazz collective Super Duty Tough Work since 2023, expanding her artistic reach across Canada and abroad.
In 2024, she released Adventure: The Album, a ten-year legacy project chronicling her journey as a Black woman instrumentalist breaking barriers in the global music industry. The project received 2026 GRAMMY® Awards consideration in three categories: Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, Best Instrumental Composition ("Adventure"), and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical).
Beyond performance, Desarae is a dedicated educator, mentor, and creative leader. She serves as Music Director and Lead Accompanist for the University of Toronto Faculty of Music Gospel Choir, is an Elementary Teacher with the Toronto District School Board, and mentors emerging creatives through Women in Music Canada, the Marigold Music Program, and the GRAMMY® U Mentor Program.
Through DDMG, she continues expanding her work across composition, live performance, education, mentorship, immersive storytelling, and intellectual property development while building a lasting legacy at the intersection of artistry, leadership, innovation, and healing through sound.
