Honored this year with an Outstanding Directing nomination in the 2026 NAACP Image Awards (for "I’ll Never Let You Go" his second collaboration with Meagan Good), Troy Scott is seizing every opportunity to elevate his craft and deliver creatively. This April saw the premiere of his gripping episode for Season 3 of CBC’s award winning police drama "Allegiance" (Ep 9 "One of Our Own"), to be followed by his latest Lifetime thriller premiering in June (working title "Jealous Type") starring Amber Stevens West, Michael Xavier, and Donna Benedicto.
Troy’s awards also include Best TV Movie nomination (2025 Canadian Screen Awards) for the powerful true-life inspired "Buying Back My Daughter" which was his first collaboration with Meagan Good and which garnered additional awards (NAACP Image Awards nomination for Meagan for Outstanding Actress plus Leo and UBCP/ACTRA Awards for co-star Faith Wright).
Troy loves the challenge of building on existing franchises, collaborating closely with the stars and producers to exceed expectations directing established series’ such as CBC’s "Allegiance"; such as the third movie "Family Affair" in Mary J Blige’s beloved trilogy; and three movies in Lifetime’s highly rated Seven Deadly Sins franchise ("Pride" starring Grammy Award Winner Stephanie D. Mills, "Greed" with Monique Coleman and Eric Benet, and "Wrath" starring Grammy Award Winner Michelle Williams, Tina Knowles-Lawson, and Romeo Miller).
Troy is honored to partner with amazing artists and creatives including two-time Grammy Award Winner LeToya Luckett in "I Thought My Husband's Wife Was Dead" (based on the novel "Unmissing" by bestselling author Minka Kent); Grammy Award Winner Ledisi in "All Saints Christmas"; NAACP Image Awards Winners Kim Fields and Adrian Holmes in MTV's "Adventures in Christmasing" for which Troy received a Directors Guild of Canada Outstanding Directorial Achievement nomination.
Born in Jamaica, Troy grew up in Toronto and, after completing his film degree at University of Waterloo, then headed to Vancouver Film School and joined the Directors Guild shortly after, working as an AD for over a decade before breaking through as Director. Troy's approach to directing is collaborative and authentic, empowering artists to give their best. Troy values opportunities to work with talented executive producers, writers, and creatives like Mary J Blige, Meagan Good, Liz Wise Lyall, Bruce Miller, Kim Fields, Derrick Williams, John & Jordan Davis, Joey Plager, Orly Adelson, Tamara T.
