Michael was raised in Tampa, Florida. As the middle child among five siblings, he always received plenty of attention. An industrious youngster, he kept himself busy with various activities. By age fourteen, he had decided to pursue a career in the arts, aiming to become a Creative Director at an advertising agency after learning that creativity could be monetized. By the time he was 20, he had achieved that goal, and after directing his first commercial, he became determined to make films. In 2001, Mr. Valverde wrote, directed, and produced the independent film "Losing Grace," featuring newcomers Ryan Browning and Matt Farnsworth alongside seasoned actors Lesley Ann Warren and Ronny Cox. In 2002, through his company Green Valley Entertainment, he developed the television show THE GRID. Later that year, he co-wrote and directed the short thriller "Insanity," starring Steve Barnes and Kip Pardue. The previous year, he co-wrote and directed the award-winning short thriller "No Witness," adapted from a short story by Steve Antczak, which also inspired the 2004 feature film of the same name. Valverde completed his next feature, "First Offense," in 2005. Beyond writing and developing film and television projects, he recently authored a filmmaker’s guide titled Make Money Making Indie Films, focusing on securing worldwide distribution and raising private capital. A skilled communicator, Mr. Valverde is a published writer with numerous national and international articles to his name. He currently lives in Atlanta and serves on the advisory board of Soccer in the Streets, a youth empowerment organization.
