After 25 years of creating programs for traditional cable and broadcast TV networks, Paul recently expanded his professional purview to include original digital content. Since the pandemic, Paul has devoted much of his time to supporting and promoting the re-emerging Broadway and arts community in New York. This work experience led him to launch the social media division at Mortimer PR, designed to promote its roster of highly regarded, award-winning Directors, Writers, Producers, Casting Directors, and Below-the-Line artists in both film and television. Their clients include industry notables such as Bill Lawrence, Chad Stahelski, Gary Dauberman, Chris Morgan, Sarah Finn, Warner Bros. Post Production Creative Services, and others.
Previously, Paul was Sr. Vice President/Head of Original Programming and Development at the cable network Pop, which was then a CBS-Lionsgate partnership. He was instrumental in re-branding Pop from TVGN (TV Guide Network) with a new slate of brand-defining original programming, including the multi-Emmy Award-winning comedy series $CHITT'S CREEK, live Red Carpet events from the Oscars/Grammys/Emmys, and numerous celebrity-led reality TV series. During his tenure, the network posted 9 consecutive quarters of ratings growth, consistently outperformed its competitive set, and renewed more than half of its new series to 2nd and 3rd seasons.
Prior to Pop, Paul held Executive positions at both NBC and The Walt Disney Company and was a Producer at E! Entertainment Television in New York. Paul began his career at age 16 as an on-camera host and producer for the CBS affiliate in Boston, where he was the youngest local television producer in the country. He has also been regularly interviewed by various print, TV, and radio outlets as an entertainment expert, including The Wall Street Journal, CBS, E!, NPR, New York Times, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Access Hollywood, and the Howard Stern Show. He is an active member of both the Producers Guild of America as well as the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
