Biografia
With over 30 years of experience in theater, television, and film production, Doug is a writer, director, producer, and actor.
In the summer of 1983, Doug began as the sole intern and assistant producer to Charlie Rose when Rose returned to television with his national show. Doug's duties included researching, welcoming, and hosting prominent political and journalistic figures such as Colin Powell, Peter Jennings, then Vice President Bush, and Julian Bond.
Following this, Doug transitioned to writing, producing, and directing marketing and promotional campaigns at ABC, CBS, and NBC. He also developed and launched campaigns for Soapnet, UPN, and LOGO.
In 1991, Doug relocated to Los Angeles to direct for renowned ad executives Ray Jacobs and Stefan Gerber. His initial projects involved directing stars like William Shatner, Morgan Freeman, Halle Berry, and Martin Sheen.
Simultaneously, Doug pursued acting, securing guest roles on Star Trek: Voyager, The Drew Carey Show, The Hughleys, Girlfriends, and Chance in the groundbreaking LOGO series Noah's Arc. His theater credits include the American premiere of The Ice Pick, the Tony Award-winning South Coast Repertory's premiere of The Hollow Lands, and a critically acclaimed portrayal of Dionysus in The Bacchae at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.
In 2006, he founded The Ogden Group Entertainment. Their debut feature, Hot Guys with Guns, was released in April 2014 by Wolfe. The main title song, "Something to Shoot For," written and performed by Mervyn Warren, was shortlisted for a 2015 Oscar nomination. The script for Hot Guys with Guns is part of the core collection at the Academy library.
Doug's second feature, From Zero to I Love You, is represented by Shoreline Entertainment and is currently on a festival circuit. An original pilot titled The Natural Order of Things is in production. His third film, Delilah Underwood, is scheduled to begin filming in spring 2020.
Doug has served on multiple boards, including Equality California, The Relational Center, The Celebration Theatre, and currently serves on the board of Outfest.
