Biografia
Ran Barker was raised on his family's farm and ranch in West Texas. After graduating from Tarleton State University/Texas A&M, he relocated to Los Angeles in 1989 to pursue acting. He studied film at UCLA and AFI, appearing in over 100 national commercials, feature films, and TV series. In 1989, he joined Warner Bros., serving as Department Head of Corporate Services for six years before becoming TV Administrator in 1994, contributing to shows such as ER (1994), Friends (1994), Living Single (1993), Suddenly Susan (1996), and over 30 others.
In 1997, Barker joined John Wells Productions, working on ER (1994), Trinity (1998), The West Wing (1999), and Third Watch (1999). He left JWP in 1999 to focus on independent films including Border to Border (1998), Game Day (2000), Fugly (2001), Margaret Cho: I'm the One That I Want (2000), Apple Jack (2003), Puzzled (2001), and Margaret Cho: Notorious C.H.O. (2002).
His projects have earned multiple accolades, including Best Comedy at the New York International Film Festival, Best Film at the Las Vegas International Film Festival, and Top 10 finalist status in Project Greenlight. He also worked on the Margaret Cho concert film shot in May 2003.
