Shannon Mary Dixon is an acclaimed actor and accomplished athlete whose passion for storytelling began on the ice as an elite figure skater with Olympic dreams. After transitioning from competitive sports to acting, she has infused her roles on ABC, CBS, NBC, Lifetime, and the digital platform BlackBox TV, as well as numerous acclaimed independent films, with a distinctive blend of physicality and emotional nuance. Her work has been showcased worldwide, including at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, London Fashion Film Festival, and Milano International Film Festival.
Her projects have garnered awards such as Best Picture, Best Acting, and Best in Show. On stage, Shannon recently earned a nomination for Outstanding Lead Performer from the Desert Theatre League for her compelling role in Edward Albee's The Death of Bessie Smith, and received critical praise for portraying 11 characters during a sold-out run of Spoon River Anthology. Most recently, she starred in POTUS at Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre, where critics hailed her performance as "played to perfection" and "artfully delivered."
Her affinity for roles that combine movement with storytelling is evident in upcoming projects like the dramatic motorcycle action film Through the Corners and the historical western The Outlaws of Mendocino County. A proficient motorcycle rider, precision stunt driver, horseback rider, and figure skater, Shannon delivers authentic performances in physically demanding roles, including a guest appearance on NBC's The Office. She is also a certified yoga instructor (RYT) and is currently training in martial arts.
Shannon trained at Ireland's renowned Gaiety School of Acting, home to alumni such as Colin Farrell and Olivia Wilde, and graduated magna cum laude with degrees in Film, Theatre, and Design from Northeastern University. She is a proud graduate of the Upright Citizens Brigade's advanced improv program and has performed extensively with independent improv teams.
Beyond acting, Shannon has experience as a production designer and was accepted into the MFA Production Design program at the American Film Institute Conservatory. In 2018, she directed and produced her first short film, Down the Road, a WWII-era story set in 1944 Paris. She is currently developing several original projects, including a post-apocalyptic western and a magical fairy tale, driven by her deep belief in storytelling, the presence of magic, and film as a powerful medium for preserving wonder.
When not working on set or stage, Shannon enjoys adventuring with her family, traveling to over 25 countries, studying French, savoring exquisite meals, and immersing herself in captivating stories.
