Biografia
Fabio Porchat is a prominent figure in Brazilian comedy. He co-founded Porta dos Fundos and serves as both actor and screenwriter for the channel, which has grown into the world's largest comedy YouTube channel.
He graduated in acting from CAL (Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras), worked at Rede Globo between 2006 and 2013, and later toured Rio performing stand-up shows. Porchat performed his solo act Fora do Normal nationwide and internationally, achieving great success with the play Meu Passado me Condena alongside Miá Mello. This play was later adapted into a hit film. From 2016 to 2018, he hosted the talk show Programa do Porchat on TV Record and in 2018, became a host on GNT’s Papo de Segunda.
His film credits include Vai que Dá Certo (directed by Maurício Farias, 2013 and 2016); Meu Passado Me Condena - O Filme (Julia Rezende, 2013 and 2015); Entre Abelhas (Ian SBF, 2014); Contrato Vitalício (Ian SBF, 2016); and Mude de Vida, Pergunte-me Como (Marcelo Antunez, 2019).
As a voice actor, Porchat voiced Olaf in Disney’s Frozen, Chuck in The Angry Birds Movie, and contributed to the animated film Sausage Party.
In 2019, he launched his own show on GNT, Que História é Essa, Porchat?, which became highly successful, earning awards including the APCA Award for Best TV Show. That same year, Porchat and Porta dos Fundos won the International Emmy Award for their Netflix Christmas Special, Se Beber, Não Case, in the Best Comedy category.
Last year, he debuted on Portuguese television with Viagens a Portugal, a series honoring the 100th anniversary of José Saramago. This year, he will premiere another show on the same channel titled Eu Só Como e Bebo.
Following another successful season, Porchat completed filming the fourth season of Que História é Essa, Porchat?, set to air on both GNT and Rede Globo. Additionally, he continues to create and perform weekly sketches for Porta dos Fundos, where he writes and acts in the scenes.
