Biografia
Kristina Cassandra Concepcion, known as K.C., is the only daughter of actors Gabby Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta. Widely regarded as showbiz royalty in the Philippines, she is often called the nation's "princess," reflecting the immense popularity of her parents, who were a beloved on-screen couple in the 1980s. Their chemistry culminated in a fairy tale wedding in 1985, which soon brought the birth of their daughter. However, their marriage ended in separation just four years later. Sharon Cuneta continued to thrive as an actress and remains one of the highest-paid actresses and commercial endorsers in the country, while Gabby Concepcion moved to California in 1995 to reside permanently in the United States.
Throughout her youth, although not officially an artist, K.C. enjoyed considerable media attention and affection from her parents’ fans. She made several uncredited appearances during her mother’s concerts and TV shows. In early 2003, she ventured into advertising, becoming a spokesperson for major products nationwide and quickly becoming one of the most sought-after commercial endorsers on television and in print. That same year, ABS-CBN aired a highly rated TV special celebrating her 18th birthday, marking her formal introduction to society.
While many expected K.C. to follow in her parents’ footsteps with numerous movie and television offers, she chose to study abroad. In 2003, she moved to France to attend the prestigious American University of Paris, majoring in International Corporate Communications with a minor in Theatre Arts. In 2007, she celebrated her college graduation alongside her mother Sharon, stepfather politician Francisco Pangilinan, and younger half-sisters Frankie and Miel.
Instead of continuing her studies in the United States as initially planned, K.C. returned to the Philippines and officially began her acting career. In early 2008, she impressed audiences with a special performance at her mother’s birthday concert, a TV special documenting her last days in Paris, and her first television drama role in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya.
By age 23, K.C. Concepcion had established her own reputation in the entertainment industry and maintained a positive public image, becoming a role model for Filipino youth.
