Founder, CEO and Producer of Ay Yapim, the leading production company of Turkish Drama.
Born in Ankara, Catay graduated from Bilkent University-Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences before completing his education in Los Angeles at UCLAs School of Film and Television. Under his leadership, Ay Yapim has produced numerous acclaimed series, including Yaprak Dökümü, Aşk-ı Memnu, Ezel, Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne?, Medcezir, Kara Sevda, İçerde, Çukur, Şahsiyet, Love 101, Yargı, Deha, Uzak Şehir and El Turco. The company’s production Kara Sevda became the first Turkish drama series to win an International Emmy® Award in 2017. Ay Yapım later received additional International Emmy® Awards with Yargı (Family Secrets) in 2023 and Deha (The Good & The Bad) in 2025. Ay Yapim’s productions have been broadcast in more than 160 countries. Of the 72 drama series primarily produced for the domestic market, 61 were developed as original formats, resulting in 28 international remakes. In cinema, Çatay produced many films and co-produced Burning Days (Kurak Günler), which was selected for the Un Certain Regard section of the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. He is also the founder of AI Yapım, Ay Yapim’s Singapore-based subsidiary focused on AI-driven storytelling. Its debut project, Castle Walls, is among the first AI-powered television series globally. Kerem Çatay continues to expand Ay Yapim’s international presence, with ongoing investments in the Middle East, Spain, and Latin America.
