Biografia
Anthony Oseyemi began his career on stage with Lewisham Youth Theatre before turning professional, performing at the Riverside as part of the London International Festival of Theatre. He also appeared at the Tricycle Theatre and the Albany with Project Phakama. He played the lead in James Baldwin's 'The Amen Corner' and later returned as both producer and actor with the multimedia production 'Performance'. His work includes promenade performances of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at the Horniman Museum & Gardens. With a background in theatre and performing arts, and holding a BA in Performing Arts, he has had lead roles in series such as 'Jacobs Cross', 'Room 9', 'Traffick', and 'Isidingo'.
His early television appearances include 'The Bill', 'Holby City', and 'Is Harry on the Boat'. Recent film roles include the feature 'Five Fingers for Marseille', the romantic comedy 'Hector's Search for Happiness' with Simon Pegg, the action film 'Seal Team 8' alongside Tom Sizemore, and the corporate thriller 'The Assignment'.
Other television credits include 'Wild at Heart', 'The Runaway', 'Strike Back', and 'The Book of Negroes'.
Anthony co-founded Antagonists Studios with Oscar Barby, developing a strong portfolio of television and film projects. In 2017, they were developing the fantasy drama series '100 Years to Go', set in Ancient Africa, focusing on a prominent dynasty and its downfall. Other projects include an animated trilogy exploring three different periods of human evolution.
Notable achievements include writing for the South African television series 'Tempy Pushas' on SABC 1, earning a South African Film and Television Awards nomination in 2014 as part of the writing team, and serving as a lead cast member on 'Room 9', which was nominated for Best New Series. Work on the follow-up album to 'Load Shedding' is underway, with Anthony completing the final tracks for a double EP featuring live acoustic and studio-produced material titled 'Forgotten Frequency'. He describes his creative process as that of a storyteller, whether through on-screen performance, music, or writing. Every element, from the opening melody to character reactions, contributes to the narrative. "It's still standing around the fire; there are just more mediums available to share the vision.
