Elliot is the CEO and founder of The Nation of Artists, former content chief and co-founder of Not Impossible, and editor-in-chief and co-founder of Beyond Cinema magazine. He also served as editor-in-chief of Moving Pictures and Celebs.com.
He has interviewed nearly a thousand notable figures, including over a hundred Oscar winners and nominees and a Nobel Peace Prize laureate. His awards include five Cannes Lions, 21 Telly Awards, two AICP Awards, four SXSW Innovation Awards, two Clio Awards, three Maggie Awards, 13 Communicator Awards, 10 W3 Awards, Webby honors, and the NYU/Tisch Craft Award for Acting. The California State Legislature, Senate, House of Representatives, and the US Congress have all recognized his inspiring words.
A six-time Emmy nominee with one win for documentary-style commercial work, Elliot is a member of the Producers Guild of America and the Academy of Television, Arts & Sciences.
As a filmmaker and producer, his projects have ranged from traditional documentaries and docu-series to VR and narrative films. As a journalist, Elliot has contributed to numerous publications including The Hollywood Reporter, Distinction for The Los Angeles Times, Flaunt, Inked, C, Black & White, Los Angeles Confidential, Gotham, Little White Lies, GQ, and Details' Style.com.
He co-produced the 2009 feature documentary 140, the first feature-length user-generated film created via social media. He wrote Little Larry (2011), which was nominated for Best Short by the Directors Guild of Canada. Other works include the feature documentaries Queen Mimi (2015), featuring Zach Galifianakis, and Project Daniel (2014), during which Not Impossible deployed a team to Sudan to establish the world’s first 3D-printed prosthetic lab and training center. His documentary-style work includes pieces for Hyundai, Participant Media, Aflac, Qualcomm, Intel, HP, Sony, Walmart Health & Wellness, and LEGO Education.
Elliot is an Innovation Fellow at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and received the Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award from Monash University, Australia. He has presented his concepts of the “4Ps” and “Idle Worshipping” at the United Nations, US Chamber of Commerce, US Institute for Peace, Social Innovation Summit, SXSW, NXNE, ACM SIGGRAPH, Cannes Film Festival, and numerous other global events.
He holds a law degree, a B.Sc. in Pharmacology & Toxicology, studied dramatic writing and acting at New York’s Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, and completed UCLA’s Professional Program in Screenwriting.
