Snezhina Petrova was born on January 16, 1970, in Silistra, Bulgaria. She is a Bulgarian theater and film actress, recognized as one of the most successful performers from the mid-1990s to the present. Her notable roles include key Bulgarian theatrical productions such as "Three Sisters"—the final production directed by the esteemed Stoyan Kambarev at Theatre "Sofia" before his passing—"Tanya, Tanya," "Marat/Sade," "Life x 3" by Javor Gardev, "The Vagina Monologues," "Archeology of Dreaming," and "Month in the Village." She has appeared in all theatrical works directed by Desislava Shpatova.
In 1994, Petrova graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art in Sofia, studying in the experimental class led by Margarita Mladenova, Ivan Dobchev, and Georgi Djulgerov. During her studies, she performed with Theatre Workshop "Sfumato," and after graduating, she worked as a freelance actress until 2005. In 1994, she acted in "Parts of the Night" by Georgi Tanev, directed by Yavor Gardev at the Sliven Drama Theatre, and the following year, she appeared in "Maids" by Jean Genet, also directed by Gardev, in a co-production between Dimitrovgrad and Haskovo Drama Theatres.
In 1996, Petrova co-founded and became the executive director of the "Legal Art Centre," an association for independent theater projects staged at venues such as the Satire Theatre, Youth Theatre, and Theatre 199. She enhanced her craft through acting workshops with Krzysztof Zanussi (1999) and contemporary dance training with Robert Tannion. Since 2005, she has served as the assistant to Tsvetana Maneva and as a professor of acting in the Theatre Department at New Bulgarian University. In 2012, she was appointed head of the department.
