Biografia
Jamie Greenberg entered the world very early and, after drying off, went on to attend Cornell University.
He recently completed his debut feature film, Stags, which he both wrote and directed. The film was shot over 30 days in New York City and produced by independent film pioneer Ben Barenholtz.
Greenberg’s short film Pillowfighter earned both the "Grand Jury" and "Best Director" Awards at the New York International Independent Film Festival and was an Official Selection at the Montreal Comedy Festival/"Just For Laughs." It also won "Best Film" at the First Sundays Comedy Film Fest and was featured in Gen Art's Ignite! festival.
His short film Taxi Dancer was chosen by Gen Art/IFC to be shown alongside the feature comedy The Baxter during its Special Advance Screenings tour.
Before focusing on film, Greenberg had a TV writing and producing career spanning nearly a decade. He co-created PBS’s Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego, earning two Emmy nominations for "Outstanding Children's Series," and wrote for all five seasons of its predecessor, Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? He contributed to various other family-friendly children’s programs and served as Story Producer on Michael Moore’s acclaimed series TV Nation.
On a different note, Greenberg was Senior Writer on several MTV specials, including Wanna Be A VJ, Total Britney Live, MTV Spring Break, among others. He also co-created and wrote MTV’s popular game show Lip Service, which won the CableACE Award for "Best Game Show." He attended three MTV Spring Break events without any visible lasting effects.
Greenberg is also an actor, appearing in over 50 episodes of Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego, uniquely portraying characters such as Simon Bolivar, Abraham Lincoln, and a Talking Head of Lettuce in the same season. He performed hidden-camera pranks on several MTV specials and TBS’s late-night show Impostor.
As an on-camera host, he presented 27 segments for the History Channel’s "Object Of The Week" web series. He spent a year as Senior Correspondent on Court TV’s offbeat comedy/news program Snap Judgment, produced by Lizz Winstead, with his segments often featured on E!’s Talk Soup.
He has taken part in numerous low-profit NYC live performances, including the weekly variety show Giant Tuesday Night, and created and hosted the live alternative comedy game show Fact In The Head.
Greenberg produced and hosted the cult-favorite Manhattan Public Access show Media Shower, showcasing unusual and humorous "found" footage. The late Joey Ramone once affectionately called him a "chimp" in relation to this program.
In his free time, Greenberg enjoys writing about himself in the third person.
