Biografia
Born in Chile in 1972, just a year before the dictatorship took control, renowned South American actor Gonzalo Vivanco is celebrated for his versatility, likely influenced by having lived in eight different countries. During his first six years, his parents relocated him and his younger brother from Argentina to Ecuador, then Venezuela, before sending them back to Santiago, Chile, to live with their grandparents. At 12, Gonzalo moved to Venezuela to live with his mother, a painter, and his father, a commercial engineer, staying there for two years. At 14, he earned a scholarship to study English in Nebraska as a foreign exchange student for two years. It was in the United States that he discovered his passion for the performing arts. Returning to Chile, he enrolled in Business Administration at Santiago's prestigious Mariscal Sucre University but left after three years to pursue acting.
Gonzalo then relocated to the Czech Republic to study under the legendary Jerzy Grotowsky. After completing the program, he returned to Chile for the fourth time to continue his studies at the National TV Network Talent Academy, where he had the unique opportunity to be trained in mime by the iconic Marcel Marceau. In 1999, Gonzalo moved to Miami, Florida, quickly beginning work in television on Spanish-language series for Telemundo and Univision. Over his distinguished career, he has performed in over 25 theater productions and established himself as a prominent figure in Spanish-language film and television, starring in major films and leading roles in numerous top-rated series across the U.S. and affiliated networks in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Venezuela. By 2012, with aspirations to work internationally, Gonzalo signed with an American manager to pursue English-language projects. Besides acting, he is also a published author, having released a book of poetry and verse titled "Entre Las Arepas y Las Carimañolas (The Things I Love)" in Colombia in 2012.
