Biografia
Ali Kazmi is a skilled multilingual actor, director, and producer with extensive experience and versatility. Born in Karachi, Pakistan, he now resides in Toronto, Canada, where he attended film and drama schools and rebuilt his career from the ground up. Coming from a family of creative giants—including actors and directors Rahat Kazmi and Sahira Kazmi, his sister Nida Kazmi, and his grandfather, Bollywood actor Shyam—creativity runs deep in his veins. He describes his upbringing as "like growing up in a warm, fuzzy, and loving film school," an environment he embraced and has applied throughout his career. For 17 years, Ali has thrived both in front of and behind the camera across Pakistan, India, Canada, and the USA, working in theater, television, and film. His expertise lies in guiding projects from inception to completion. Fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Persian, Pashto/Dari, with basic knowledge of French and Arabic, he has built a diverse portfolio featuring complex characters.
Ali believes, "One cannot portray life on screen if one has not lived it!" Beyond his artistic pursuits, he is a marathoner, triathlete, certified scuba diver, adventurer, traveler, and dreamer. His journey is ongoing, showing no sign of slowing down.
A lifelong performer, Ali began his career at age one, appearing in a national song directed by his mother, veteran director Sahira Kazmi, titled "Vattan ki mitti" ("The Beloved Earth of My Country"). While other children aspired to be cowboys, doctors, engineers, or astronauts, Ali was drawn to acting. By 14, he was professionally modeling, dancing, and performing. Life and love eventually led him to Toronto, where through hard work, determination, positivity, and perseverance, he has become a sought-after stage and screen actor. From waving the Pakistani flag on his father's shoulders as a child, he now stars in acclaimed director Deepa Mehta’s upcoming gangster film "Beeba Boys," set to premiere at TIFF 2015.
In addition to acting and hosting, Ali fuels his creativity as a freelance creative consultant for agencies including Publicis, McLaren McCann, Balmoral Communications Inc., and Focus Communications Inc. He hosts and produces for Ary Digital Canada and TV One Canada. He founded and directs the South Asian division of China Syndrome Productions Inc. and its subsidiary Blue Ocean Ethnic Productions, producing and directing numerous successful multicultural projects, commercials, documentaries, and videos for clients such as GM, United Way, Brampton Multicultural Centre, Alzheimer's Society of Ontario, Nissan, Clorox, Brita, Nestlé Quality Street, Loblaws, Bell, Rogers, Western Union, Campbell's, Scotiabank, TD, and Marineland.

You just have to believe! Only then will the magic happen!
"All you need is love." – Lennon-McCartney
"They may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one." – John Lennon
"The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper." – W.B. Yeats
Viva la film, viva la creativity.
As Shakespeare wrote in *As You Like It*:
"All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts."
In life, it doesn’t matter what role you play, as long as you play it well. – Ali Kazmi
