Robert Katz, a Peabody Award-winning producer, started his career in the early 1980s creating commercials and music videos. He later transitioned into music production, working on long-form documentaries and music performance specials such as Terra Gitane - The Gipsy Kings for PBS, VH1 Presents The 70s, Rhythm, Country & Blues for PBS, and Endless Harmony for BBC & VH1.
In 1995, Katz joined VH1 as Vice President of Production and Executive Producer, managing over 150 hours of music performances, event productions, documentaries, series, and specials. As VH1's head of production, he played a key role in developing VH1 Divas, the 100 Greatest franchise, and the My VH1 Music Awards. His other executive producing credits include the Hard Rock Live series, the concert special Men Strike Back, the Experience Music Project Museum Grand Opening, and the Eric Clapton Concert for Crossroads.
Katz's commercial and music video portfolio includes work for brands like Ford, Wal-Mart, General Mills, and Gateway Computer, as well as music videos for artists such as Art of Noise, Simple Minds, Yoko Ono, Lou Reed, and Grandmaster Flash.
