Biografia
Megan Frances was raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, IL, where she began acting at an early age, participating in school plays and musicals. Her passion for acting and entertainment deepened as she grew. Megan started her professional career touring the Midwest with the Kids Matter National Theatre production, The Art of Making Choices, a program educating children on resisting drugs and alcohol. Soon after, she secured a featured role in the film The Rest of Your Life (2001), which received awards at the Angelciti Film Festival and the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival. She then portrayed one of Joan Cusack's students on the short-lived TV series What About Joan (2000).
In 2004, Megan relocated to Los Angeles, CA, to attend the New York Film Academy's one-year acting conservatory program at Universal Studios. During her studies, she acted in Girl with an Accent (2005), which earned the Silver Award at the Mumbai International Film Festival. After graduating, Megan revisited her love for children by performing as Clutzo the Juggler in a Christmas show that toured local children's hospitals. She soon returned to the stage in The Insomniac Series, directed by Chad Taylor. Her screen credits include The Open Door (2008) directed by Doc Duhame, The Rebuy produced by Scylla Films, and Lakewood's Twilight Zone, a special for Lakewood Public Access Television, before performing again in The Insomniac Series-Part 2. Megan was a regular at Los Angeles' No Shame Theatre, produced by Jeff Goode, where she also wrote and directed several of her own works.
Following a cameo in Sean Cain's Silent Night, Zombie Night (2009) and work on Paul Hough's The Human Race (2013), Megan became active in the Orange County theater scene, landing the lead role in the musical The Green Room. She later joined casts of two separate productions of RENT in Fullerton, CA, and La Habra, CA. After participating in The Blank Theatre Company's Young Playwrights Festival and another production of RENT, Megan appeared on the karaoke competition show Killer Karaoke (2012), hosted by Mark McGrath. In 2015, she performed in two different productions of Hairspray. In 2016, Megan wrote, directed, produced, and acted in Hott Line at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. She then played Jan in Grease before filming two episodes of Season 3 of The Price of Fame (2016).
Megan was a member of Shine! LA's Youth Theater, a company focused on family-oriented, literature-based productions, until they moved outside Los Angeles. She performed in their shows including Charlotte's Web the Musical, A Christmas Story, Robin Hood the Musical, and Cinderella the Musical.
Enjoying the creation and portrayal of unique, exaggerated characters, Megan launched a YouTube channel in 2016 called Mondays with Megan, featuring many of these personas.
Though skilled in comedy, Megan has a strong interest in dramatic roles and is currently developing a thriller-themed web series.
