Angela Means is an American entrepreneur and former actress, model, and comedian. She launched her career as a fashion model, walking the runways for designers like Bill Blass and Bob Mackey. She is best known for her role as Felisha in the cult classic film Friday (1995), starring alongside Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. Means also appeared in films such as House Party 3 (1994) and the American children's sitcom Cousin Skeeter (1998-2001). As a comedian, she performed on Def Comedy Jam (1992) and Showtime at the Apollo (1993).
Born in Jamaica, Queens, New York, Means was raised on a farm in Midland, Michigan. At 24, she began her modeling career in Atlanta, Georgia, and soon transitioned to stand-up comedy in nightclubs during the early 1990s. Starting at the Comedy Act Theater in Atlanta, she quickly gained recognition, appearing on Def Comedy Jam and Showtime at the Apollo, and landed television roles in shows like In Living Color and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper. In 1994, she auditioned for roles in House Party 3 as Veda Pratt and as Felisha in Friday.
Following the release of Friday, Means and her boyfriend Brad Kaaya welcomed their son, future NFL star Brad Kaaya Jr. She gradually stepped back from acting and comedy to focus on raising her son as a stay-at-home mother. Nevertheless, she made cameo appearances in The Cherokee Kid (1996) and Sprung (1997), and later secured a role as Aunt Vanessa on Nickelodeon's popular children's show Cousin Skeeter, which aired until 2001. After the show ended, Means retired from acting and comedy to pursue other ventures, including serving as Operations Director for American Youth Football, working in photography, and becoming the owner of Jackfruit Cafe, a vegan restaurant in Los Angeles.
