Alan Bomar Jones has appeared in feature films including Criminal Activities (Agent Reichart) alongside John Travolta and Michael Pitt in 2014, directed by Jackie Earle Haley; White Boy Rick (Officer Willie Volsan) with Matthew McConaughey in 2018; Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (Judge Stewart Hanson) with Zac Efron in 2019; and Native Son (Detective Calhoun) with Nick Robinson, Ashton Sanders, and Sanaa Lathan in 2019.
Theatre credits include performances at The Human Race Theatre in Crowns (The Man), To Kill a Mockingbird (Reverend Sykes), Jitney (Turnbo), Gem of the Ocean (Solly Two King), RACE (Henry), Permanent Collection (Sterling North), Children of Eden (various roles), and The Odd Couple (Murray). At American Stage Theatre Company, he performed in Radio Golf (Harmond), The Piano Lesson (Doaker), Two Trains Running (Halloway), King Hedley II (Elmore), and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (Cutler). At Contemporary American Theatre Company, his roles included Exonerated (Delbert Tibbs) and Soldiers Play (Sgt Waters). With Pittsburgh Playwright Theatre, he appeared in Seven Guitars (Canewell) and Gem of the Ocean (Caesar). At Banyan Theatre Company, he performed in Sty of the Blind Pig (Doc).
He is the recipient of the Blackburn Award of Excellence for Best Actor, has been nominated three times for Best Supporting Actor at the Tampa Bay Awards, and has won two Onyx Awards for Best Equity Actor from AACTA in Pittsburgh, PA.
