Since 1993, Mr. Kimmel has been a leading producer of theater music on CD, having produced over 130 albums. He earned a Grammy nomination for producing the revival cast album of Hello, Dolly!, and his collaboration with jazz pianist Fred Hersch, I Never Told You, also received a Grammy nomination. He developed the critically acclaimed Lost In Boston and Unsung Musicals series and has produced solo albums for artists such as Petula Clark, Helen Reddy, Liz Callaway, Laurie Beechman, Paige O'Hara, Christiane Noll, Judy Kaye, Judy Kuhn, Brent Barrett, Jason Graae, Randy Graff, Emily Skinner, and Alice Ripley. Additionally, he has worked with legends like Lauren Bacall, Elaine Stritch, and Dorothy Loudon. His production credits include numerous off-Broadway and Broadway cast albums, notably the successful revival of The King and I starring Lou Diamond Phillips and Donna Murphy, The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas starring Ann-Margret, and Bells Are Ringing starring Faith Prince.
Mr. Kimmel is also an author of four novels, including a trilogy made up of Benjamin Kritzer, Kritzerland, and Kritzer Time, as well as Writer's Block and Rewind. He has a new novel scheduled for release this fall and recently launched a record label named Kritzerland. Furthermore, he has written a new play titled Deceit, which is set to premiere in Los Angeles in January 2006.
