Ricky Ryba (pronounced ree-ba) is a versatile artist who excels as a SAG-AFTRA actor, creative producer, and former U.S. Naval Officer.
Among his notable achievements is a supporting role in the blockbuster "American Sniper," directed by the legendary Clint Eastwood. His voiceover work in the "Pokémon" franchise and his engaging appearances on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" highlight his impressive range and charisma. On stage, Ricky commands attention in lead roles such as in the Los Angeles production of "The Ghosts of Ma Barker." He also earned the prestigious Best Overall Actor Award at the Global Stars Network competition, outshining over 200 talented competitors.
Beyond his artistic career, Ricky is deeply committed to supporting the arts and veteran communities. He volunteers with organizations including SAG-AFTRA, SAG Foundation, MPTF, PGA, AFI, and Veterans in Media & Entertainment. He founded and manages three actor support groups in key entertainment cities—Los Angeles, New York City, and Atlanta—dedicated to nurturing emerging talent. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors for Pin-Ups for Vets, a nonprofit raising funds for hospitalized veterans and deployed soldiers. Ricky also supports the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH), providing riding lessons to military veterans and individuals with special needs.
Raised in New Jersey, Ricky excelled in sports during his youth, earning numerous league championships and MVP honors in football, baseball, track, and wrestling. During his junior year of high school, he was encouraged to audition for the school’s musical, where he earned the lead role, sparking his passion for performing.
Following the events of 9/11, Ricky chose to serve his country, putting his entertainment ambitions on hold. He was accepted into the esteemed United States Naval Academy, where he was a standout varsity sprint football player, winning multiple championships and MVP awards. While at the academy, he also participated in the Men’s Glee Club, acted in plays, and competed in talent showcases while earning a degree in Information Technology.
Commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer, Ricky served aboard two warships with deployments overseas, visiting over 20 countries. A transfer to Point Mugu, California, marked the start of his pursuit of an acting career. Balancing military service with his creative aspirations, he completed his military service honorably in 2019 and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Producing with honors from the New York Film Academy in 2020.
Ricky’s zest for life includes quality time with family and friends, an adventurous spirit, a contagious sense of humor, and a steadfast dedication to creating art and positively impacting those around him. He currently lives in the vibrant heart of Los Angeles, embracing each day with passion.
