Biografia
Simone-Élise Girard was raised in the charming suburbs of Montreal alongside her two sisters, with an engineer father and a mother deeply engaged in volunteer work and passionate about politics. From an early age, Simone-Élise knew she wanted to pursue acting.
Her passion for dance emerged early as well, earning her a scholarship for Classical Dance at Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. After dedicating her teenage years to dance, she completed her studies at the renowned Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in Montreal. Following her graduation with a degree in Human Sciences, she enrolled at Concordia University's Liberal Arts College, also in Montreal.
Eager to broaden her perspective, Simone-Élise traveled through France, Italy, England, Holland, and Belgium. Upon returning to Canada, she fully committed to acting, training with esteemed instructors in Quebec, New York, and Paris.
Since then, she has appeared in over 50 productions, playing major roles in Quebecois, Canadian, and American films and television series. Notable credits include the Oscar-winning film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "E.R." as Gillian Ronin, and Catharina Bannier in "Shattered Glass."
In the past three years, she has held leading roles in two highly popular Quebec TV shows: Judith Carpentier in the award-winning and critically acclaimed series "Unité 9," and Frédérique Argentier in the multiple Gemini Award-winning series "O."
In 2016, she will continue portraying Judith Carpentier in "Unité 9" and star as Béatrice in Denis Côté's ninth film, "Boris sans Béatrice," which is competing for the Golden Bear at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. Simone-Élise divides her time between Montreal and Los Angeles, where she lives with her son, Gabriel.
